It was a big celebration ever held for the last 4 months by some of the Catholic students studying at Fu Jen Catholic University – Language Centre. There were about 42 people gathered together in the meeting room of the Convent of the Holy Spirit Sisters. Looking at the size of the room, it was amazing how the 42 of us (or more) could fit and still had the space to move around.
There were mostly International students from countries, such as Japan, Korea, America, French, Italy, Mongolia, Solomon Islands, Nauru, Saint Lucia, Burkina Faso, and Indonesia. All came together as one unity. We were singing songs and dancing along, playing games, and not to forget to also introducing ourselves to one another. There was also a short presentation by Father Luigi, explaining about the meaning of Easter. Although some of the students are not Christians, but they seemed to be enthusiastic throughout the presentation. Nevertheless, although the presentation was done in English, there was one teacher from the Language Centre who joined us and thus, she was very nice to help us to translate it into Chinese. So, we had both English and Chinese version.
We were indeed very happy because we got to know others, who although studying at the same building (Language Centre), but never had the chance to talk or even did not know each other before. Yet now, we all know each other better. In the end of the celebration, each of us also received an Easter egg with a Bible verse attached on it. Thus, this gathering has built the relationship among the students and we believe that this is one of the joys that we received in this Easter, for when there is love; God is within us, Amen.
